Web Conference: The Future of 5G

International Competition Without Tariffs

ExportUSA New York Corp. and the Southeastern Europe Security Center (SESC), in collaboration with the ECR Party and the EPP Group are organizing the High-Level web conference: “The future of 5g: International Competition without tariffs”.

The initiative - moderated by Lucio Miranda, President of ExportUSA New York Corp. and Fatmir Mediu, Chair of the Southeastern Europe Security Center (SESC) and Former Minister of Defense of Albania - will take place on Zoom, the 8th of July at 4.30 PM (CET).

Special guests will be General James Jones, former NATO Allied Supreme Commander / USA National Security Adviser and CongressmanRobert Aderholt, (US Congress).

Moreover, Richard Milsom (Executive Director of the ECR Party), Lukas Mandl - MEP (Vice-Chair Subcommittee on Security and Defence, SEDE), Anna Michelle Asimakopolou, MEP (Vice Chair, Committee on International Trade), Andrew Bowie, (Member of the UK Parliament) and Tim Braukmüller, (Managing Partner atene KOM GmbH ) will intervene as main speakers to stimulate a proactive debate and suggest possible solutions to overcome the 5G Network main related challenges.

Overall objective of the web conference will be to raise awareness on the relevance that the 5G technology is acquiring, and which are the benefits as well as the risks both for the industries and the users alike. 

In the framework of the event, panelists will propose actions at EU level, to encourage the participation of reliable and trustworthy suppliers and services suppliers in 5G markets, to protect 5G networks from unauthorized interferences at the military and industrial level, as well as in terms of privacy.

Moreover, considered that a safer 5G can become the key to improve transatlantic trade relationships, both the moderators and the panelists will create the right purposes for a safe, western 5G taskforce, involving stakeholders and industries as well as policymakers and officials ready to meet, discuss and propose a concrete solutions in this respect.
